How to convince your manager that you should attend the Tribal Empower Conference

Posted by Sophie Fryer on March 9, 2018

In June 2018, for the first time ever, Tribal is combining the SITS:Vision, Maytas and ebs user conferences to bring you the Tribal Empower Conference.

Aimed at our customers from the higher education, further education and skills, training and employers markets, this event is dedicated to exploring the power (and future) of digital to ensure you and your learners thrive in an ever-changing technological environment.

We will be drawing upon our experience as the UK's leading provider of education technology solutions to bring you a unique opportunity to see, hear and share our latest thinking; through an innovative schedule of keynotes, workshops, breakout sessions and networking opportunities.

We are really excited to bring you Empower Conference 2018. Our team have been working hard on creating an agenda and schedule that will ensure our delegates get the most out of attending our two-day event.

If budgets are tight or there are deadlines coming up, it can be hard to convince your manager that you should attend industry events. We have put together a list of reasons why our conference will be beneficial to you and your wider team, which you can use when convincing your manger that you should book your tickets to the Tribal Empower Conference today:

You'll discover how to overcome common challenges in education with our eight hours of networking opportunities

At the Empower Conference, we have over eight hours of dedicated networking, as well as our evening dinner at the end of the first day. This will give you the opportunity to meet and network with peers who are focused on the same challenges as you. Not only this, but you will also get to meet individuals and third-party exhibitors who work in different areas of education, some of who will be very familiar with the same challenges but will have a solution or will be tackling them in a different way. If there's ever a chance to get a new perspective on a scenario that you could take back to your team, Empower Conference is chance to do this.

You can use your takeaways to influence change at your institution/company

The Empower Conference agenda is coming together, and we will shortly be releasing our list of breakout sessions. Delegates will have a wide range of sessions to choose from, plus our Higher Education attendees will have access to our SITS:Vision User Group. Our sessions cover everything from thought-leadership to technical classes and training programmes based upon our software and services. Going to Empower Conference may help you bring new ideas to a particular project you are working on - and will give you the chance to share your takeaways with your team post-conference. We always try where possible to forward on our presentation slides to delegates, making sharing even easier.

You'll get hands on experience and demos of our products in our Tribal interactive zone

Tribal has some really exciting projects in the pipeline, including our much-anticipated Tribal Edge product. Empower Conference will give you a chance to see the products first-hand and even demo the systems yourself. With mobile apps like Student Engage hitting the market, you may find yourself going back to your institution/company with a ready-made pitch to help improve student/staff communication. You will also be able to discuss any queries regarding your existing products, where our sales and support teams will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

You will enhance your knowledge with our CPD opportunities

Attending the Empower Conference will put you in a different mindset and the variation of people attending will allow you to hear about different approaches to common challenges that you may not have encountered at your desk. Empower Conference will help you with your goals, and you'll go back to your company with fresh ideas, plans to manage your projects, inspiration and new-found knowledge. With previous conference delegates saying ‘The conference is a really enjoyable and a useful way to keep up with changes’, we've heard first-hand how our content keeps our delegates moving forward.

We already have an exciting line-up of speakers for this year's Empower Conference, including Paul Feldman (CEO of Jisc), Nick Linford (Editor at FE Week), Ian Dunn (Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Student Experience at Coventry University Group) and Tony Allen (CEO, Allen Apprenticeships and Skills).
